Gagosian hits the retail world!

Jeff Koons's 1998 "Puppy Vase" (shown with flowers)

The new Larry Gagosian retail store at the corner of Madison Avenue and 77th Street is a dream where Art and Commerce have no shame or make any apologies. Featuring the work, limited editions and book of most artists from the Gagosian empire, this venture once again sets him apart and ahead from other galleries, institutions and any other art related business.

One of the items for sale is Jeff Koons, Puppy Vase, 1998 featured here in the photo. I remember not too long ago, I had a chance to purchase one for only $550.00 ...now a couple of years later and at a edition of 3,000.00, it will cost you a mere $7.500.00. I knew it but, was always concerned since it is made out of porcelain, about cracks or chipping it. Oh well next time, I will take that chance!
