The Pool Fair @ The Chelsea Hotel

Victor Grasso-Self Portrait

The Pool Fair was a bit of a disappointment. However there were some artists worth mentioning. Here are some highlights of my favorite ones.
Sharing a room together (I mean only the room) was Victor Grasso and Maxi Cohen.

Victor Grasso is a painter and they are quite vibrant, photo-realism and uses topic and elements of our current pop culture. The paintings are quite nice and full of energy.

Maxi Cohen-East Side Air Terminal, 1981

Maxi Cohen specializes in photography and video.
She is an artist and filmmaker. Her work is in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Israeli Museum in Jerusalem and more. Her films appear in movie theaters and on television. Her photos of the series ‘Ladies Rooms Around the World’ were quite engaging and interesting. She also has photos of Area and Danceteria clubs(party girl days) bringing back a lot of memories.

I also made it to the Chelsea Pool Art Fair, agreed this room surpassed all others, it belonged over at the Armory. The realism of this artist is noteworthy, someone to watch for in future events
