While flipping through the new Phillips de Pury auction catalog titled Photographs (my favorite topic) , towards the end, I had a very pleasant surprise. I found one of Cara Phillips (no relation to the auction house) photographs from her Singular Beauty series up for auction at London, England on October 15, 2009 . Great! and very excited for Cara whose works, I collect and recommend everybody else to do so as well.

Speaking off Cara, she will be also part of the group show titled UNSEEN , curated by us truly and shown at the Randall Scott Gallery in DUMBO , NYC , opening date October 22, 2009.

The auction includes 16 photographs selected by Phillips’photography specialist from The Collector’s Guide to Emerging Art Photography, a 180-page source book produced for collectors, art dealers, gallery directors, photo editors, museum professionals, and independent curators published by Humble Arts Foundation earlier this year. To further engage prospective buyers and to highlight the collaboration, Humble’s works will be on display in its own private viewing room.

Eric LoPresti@ Like The Spice Gallery

ARTmostfierce was invited to an studio visit for emerging artist Eric LoPresti sponsored by the auction house Phillips DePury.

Eric's paintings are combination of oil and airbrush on linen .Most of his paintings are manifested as diptychs in which one side has a complete abstract expression vs. a quite crafted , insightful and detailed visual that makes us think of the some of the world most current events.

A good example of it is the second diptych painting (Untitled) in which an image from Iraq can be as familiar as a neighborhood somewhere in Florida or Los Angeles in the moment of being hit by a missile. There is a lot of reflexion, insinuation and hidden messages in his paintings but, I want you to be the judge so please, go to the opening tomorrow night and see for yourself . ARTmostfierce will be present at this auction. There some pieces in this lot that are in my collection so, it will be interesting to see their current market value . The lot is quite interesting ranging from jewelery , Clothing from the eighties , furniture, photography , some prints and believe it or not toys. Most of the auction starting prices in my opinion were extremely low but , I can see it as a good strategy to lure American buyers and get European more for their money.

Rumor has it that Marisol Delicious is the one dumping some of this pieces of her collection.

Girl...get ready for some serious cash$$$$. ARTmostfierce owns three of these pieces...go figure!
