After so many years of stashing away like a squirrel ( no, that is not my nickname, someone else we know)
I was looking around and decided that my art collection will be only photography and the works related to this art media.
Out the door via auction , eBay, Craigslist or whatever ( see my state of mind on blog header ) is necessary. will go all the works on Paper , mixed media, Multiples, Ephemera, limited edition signed posters and most of the painting as well.
I already sold a Jeff Koons puppy and made quite (very substantial ) a profit on it. Just a tip to new art collectors, bought it many years ago, believed to be 2002-2003. Most of my friends thought that, I was abolutely insane for paying at that time close to $200.00 for it. They said you paid $200.00 for a ceramic plate (little they know), I said YES because:
1- I liked it.
2-I thought it will become an iconic symbol of an art era.
3-Did not matter to me the fact that it was an edition of 2,300.00 that at that time, you can simply buy it at the giftshop of the Mass MoCA.
4. My personal taste and eye tents to go the unusual and rare.
Here is an example how well this little balloon dog is doing:

Well, I was right my instict did not fail me and whenever you buy a piece of art, even though sometimes is important to hear what other say and think of it, YOU are the one making the final decision and YOU have to trust your gut. More than anything you need to love what you collect and buy. After nine lovely years of my little shinny Jeff Koons plate had adorned so greacefully in my living room, like a many of my relationships ...it is time to say ADIOS!
Trust me that little 10 inch square space is already filled up with a great photograph.
Ciao bello Puppy Balloon! You go on and make anothers home beautiful and happy!
If you own one ...take it out for a walk with no return and make some pretty good mula in return!
Very hot right now!
PS. Thanks for making me momentarly rich in the process...Muah!

Hey Ruben! I think you should give first dibs to your collection on this blog. I'm sure we'd all like to see your collection!
Maybe after I do another re-hanging.It has been a while...
If it's possible for you to show the collection then I would surely like to see your amazing collection of art work and photographs for which you are paid such great amount and do you really think that it can be counted as iconic symbol of an art era in future.
