I found Brian Shumway Black Girl series while doing work as a pre-screening juror during Photolucida's Critical Mass 2010. Black Girl is beautifully portrayed and posessess a very strong social message that is continuously mentioned and highly criticized in the headlines news over the years but as yet there is no big social reforms taken about it. The ongoing Racism in the fashion and modeling industry still prevails and hope, that this book reinforces the issue and demonstrates to the world that BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL!
