"Coal Seams" from Removing Mountains, Daniel Shea, 2007
ARTmostfierce Affordable Print Pick of the Week goes to photographer Daniel Shea. Daniel is pursuing a great cause with his work and prints are beautiful and extremely affordable.
See more information below and ...Happy Shopping!
The print sale will support the first visit to the region, after which I plan on working with a few magazines that have shown interest in producing a story about coal burning in this region. With a new administration and a shifting public conscious, I feel very strongly about creating work that is topically relevant and socially engaged. Much like Removing Mountains, I'm interested in providing an alternative to modern photojournalism, and presenting a more involved look into the communities in this region
ABOUT THE PRINTS AND THE SALE, TWO LEVELS OF SPONSORSHIP:
OPTION ONE:
The images below will be printed one time at the following sizes (for each image's respective proportions):
10"x10" image on 11"x11" paper, edition of 5.
10"x12" image on 11"x13" paper, edition of 5.
All prints will be produced using digital C-printing technology on Fuji Archival Luster paper. Prints will be signed and editioned accordingly.
Each print is $50-75 sliding scale, the price includes shipping to the US (international folks, email me for details). In addition to the editioned print, you will receive a small print from the developing body of work once I get back to Chicago.
OPTION TWO:
I undertstand that $50-75 is a lot of money for most people (myself included). That's why I wanted to offer an alternative to anybody else interested in sponsoring the project but who can't quite afford a $50-75 print.
On a $15-25 sliding scale, choose an image on my website and I will send you an uneditioned 8"x10" of that print.
The print will either be an archival Inkjet print or a digital C-Print and the signature will designate the image as not part of any edition.
ORDERING INFORMATION:
I prefer Paypal (Paypal email: or check by mail. Please send me an email with the subject "Print Sale" and details about what you would like in the body of the email. Prints will be reserved in the order I receive emails.
Please allow up to 2 weeks for printing and handling of the prints. All prints will be shipped flat and with care.
