Artist Statement
My series, "Paradise," is an exploration of areas where the contrast between nature and development is at an extreme. I am specifically interested in revealing inconsistencies between modern living in a rural landscape, and the infrastructure that comes along with this habitation. My personal experience of living in many different areas of the United States has had a significant impact on my work, and it is in these photographs that I see signposts of what is truly becoming the American landscape. A landscape that fundamentally represents compromise and sacrifice, compromise that people are increasingly willing to accept to live in certain areas, at the sacrifice of an oddly altered environment. However, this series of photographs is not meant to be a judgment, rather it is intended to be a view of the contemporary landscape approached with an unencumbered eye.

Be nice, be proactive, be positive and yes you can be a bit naughty. Negativity, tackiness and insecurity will get you nowhere in the ART World!
